As the flagship show of New York Improv Theater, EIGHT IMPROV, formerly known as EIGHT IS NEVER ENOUGH, has been entertaining thousands of audiences live from Times Square NYC and touring nationwide since 2002.
Now the Longest Running Comedy Show in New York City
The shows still often feature co-creators Laurice Fattal and Walt Frasier (HBO, MTV, Billions, Black List, Blue Bloods, etc.). Filling out the ranks are dozens of professional New York-based singers, actors, and comics improvising original skits and songs improvised based upon your suggestions and participation.

2:45-4:30 Saturday January 10th is our new monthly showcase for all of our students and colleagues to play. Share the stage with other classmates and teachers, and then enjoy improv, Sketch and Stand Up comedy by guest performer. 2nd Saturday of every month!
NEW Mondays 7pm VIRTUAL WRITER’S ROOM Join us on zoom, share stand up and sketch comedy ideas, get your scripts read aloud by other guests. Check in and network, maybe play some improv as time permits.
Walt Frasier
With over 30 years of experience in theater, comedy, and television, Walt Frasier is the Artistic Director of Improv Theater LLC, a leading edutainment center known for its high-impact comedy shows and workshops. His extensive career includes performing comedy sketches on MTV’s Stankervision, Late Nite with David Letterman, TruTV’s Friends of the People, and HBO’s Pause with Sam Jay. As an actor, Walt has appeared on NBC’s Blacklist, CBS’s Blue Bloods, USA’s Royal Pains, Netflix’s Lilyhammer, and NICK’s Naked Brothers Band, in addition to numerous commercials, industrials, and live performances worldwide.
Early on I loved old MGM musicals about the 1920s, vaudeville and burlesque by Bob Hope, Gene Kelly and others. As a teen I played trumpet and piano in Jazz bands, including dixieland ensembles with my father (a) trombone player. Later in college, as I switched to theater, mostly Broadway & Opera, I performed in many “jazzy” shows, learning how to Tap Dance, swing and sing.
In my 20s, I fell in love with theGodfather 2 and the history of Irish and Italian New York “families”. Part Sheehan & Murphy, I am a descendant from Irish Americans on both sides of the family. As an opera singer, I fell in love with great Italian food. Since 2012 I have been playing Santa Claus on Arthur Ave, the REAL Little Italy of New York.
Combine all that, and 20+ years in Improv Comedy, completely immersing myself in a speakeasy or similar show just seems right. Perhaps the most natural next step in my career.
These days I run 2-3 Murder Mysteries every week, from Clue Parties to full blown dinner theater style shows. I’m on the road 2-10 hours a day. I’m eating a lot of great event food.
It’s not for everyone, but I love it. And like my improv comedy shows, any given night I get to play, using my talents as a singer, actor, dancer and comic. Sometimes I even get to play a little piano, or sing an Italian song with my uke.
If you’re looking for something different, our shows are incredibly unique. Especially my Madcapped Mysteries and original Clue Parties that get your guests playing zany characters.
Just like my improv shows and workshops, my mission is to spread joy and laughter, while building communities. In every show, I get a moment to be a fly on the wall, watching the fruits of our labors, as folks deliberate final solutions to the mysteries. Watching folks smile, rise to the challenges, collaborating with each other…. it’s what keeps me going at 2am driving home from some remote town upstate, Boston, DC, Pennsylvania or similar long-distance destination. The drives there are always gorgeous and the rides home are always long. But the 2-3 hours we get to entertain… priceless!
