    ACT I: The Crime Scene

The show starts like a mad libs book, or the popular improv game, call ’em’s. Our professional comedian, and decorated murder mystery detective, leads the crowd to establish a crime. As in an improv show, we create the WHO WHERE WHAT of a crime scene. We might even meet the coroner and other members of the investigative team (audience guests).

    ACT II: Who’s Who

Over the the course of the next 20-30 minutes, many, if not all of your guests become characters in the story, one by one created organically thru the interactions of the MC and guests. We meet various public servants, from the Mayor to the coroner to the District Attorney as well as the Victim’s friends, family and coworkers.

Have Fun, Be Creative but don’t over think it. Less is more. Share these links with your guests. Everyday can be Halloween thanks to online costume stores. HOT TIP: Check out the pictures for ideas then check the back of your closet. You might find something you can accessorize – a dress, a vest, etc. Also, make a trip to your local thrift shops and vintage stores. Theater folk find amazing hidden gems there.

    PROLOGUE

Upon arrival, every guest (up to 40, ask about options for larger parties up to 300+) gets a special invitation. This invitation is addressed to a particular character in our story. When they open up the invite, they find their character’s story. Each script is written in first person. It is designed for easy use. Guests can literally read off the card if they are not feeling creative this evening. They also have a set of three clues about other guest’s motivations, secrets and more.

    ACT I: The Murder

Our professional detective leads the fun. (PICTURED: That’s me, Walt Frasier, at a Westchester, NY Mansion, January 2026 Birthday Party)

After a brief explanation on how to play the game, the murder is announced. We learn the name of the victim, where the murder took place and the type of weapon involved.

    ACT II: On The Case

Then Every character is set loose. For smaller events, 40 or less guests, EVERYONE is simultaneously suspect and Detective, interrogating each other, collecting story and clues.

    ACT III: The Murder Board

Trust no one, as you weigh all the evidence and solve the case. Keep an open mind, stick to the facts and the job is easy. Let your self be swayed by Red Herring and someone might just get away with MURDER!

    ACT IV: The Final Solutions

The detective will collect answer sheets and read off a few wrong answers before announcing the final solution.

    ACT III: Interogations

Eventually a handful of characters are named as suspects, while everyone else becomes a deputy, teaming up to interogate these dubious characters and solve the crime.

    ACT IV: Solve The Case

Everyone takes a moment to fill oit our answer sheets, setting down to paper who they think did the dastardly deed, how, where and why. For larger events, this occurs in teams. For smaller events usually it’s everyone for them selves, or perhaps couples pair off, etc.

    ACT V: Final Reveals

Every murder show ends with the final reveals. But Madcapped Mysteries is by far the most fun. The detective will MELODRAMATICALLY read many, or all of the solutions. We end the show awarding a few prizes to the most beloved solutions and even a best actor award.

  • First Person Shooter: Paranormal POV Short Story

First Person Shooter: Paranormal POV Short Story

I love my story First Person Shooter…

Basically, the entire story is in first person of a BA / CIA type hit woman on assignment. Bored, passing the time, her inner monologue at one point is imagining her life as a reality show.

How boring her job is 99% of the time, staking out, setting up shots. And then it’s a bit intense for a few minutes. At one point, the inner monologue is a sports channel play by play asking What will she do next?, with the color commentary saying, “We’ll you know Bob…. ”

Her point is that, when she does her job correctly it IS boring. Not like the movies, saying she is the opposite of SALT, BOMBSHELL, HOMELAND, etc

But then things take a wild turn….
